Rethink Greener
Kimberly-Clark Professional tissue products are produced using the highest international standards of environmental management.
We understand that environmental issues are more complex than just using recycled paper. We focus on the big picture, reducing our environmental impact at every single stage of our product's life cycle.
Trees harvested like wheat
| Kimberly-Clark Professional only uses fibre from sustainably managed forests and plantations. This means the trees are replanted and managed to ensure full replacement and sustainability. It's like growing and harvesting wheat, only on a longer time scale. The majority of our products use waster from renewable pine plantations. In the past, this material was left in the forest and was a wasted resource. The rest of our fibre comes from plantation eucalypt wood and softwoods from sustainably managed forests. | |
Recycling where it matters
![]() | Kimberly-Clarks packaging is made using recycled paper and board. This is because the hard and coarse nature of recycled paper suits the needs of strong packaging. Other products, such as tissue based personal hygiene products, have quality, cleanliness and functionality requirements that make recycled fibre a second rate choice for our customers. |
Environmentally guaranteed
| With Kimberly-Clark you can be sure that any product from anywhere in the world is made from environmentally-sound sources of fibre. Kimberly-Clark does not source fibre from endangered forest areas. Our Australian supplier, Forests SA, has achieved certification for its forests to the Australia Forestry Standard (AS 4708). | |
Culture of environmental responsibility
| Kimberly-Clark invests millions of dollars every year in continuous improvement programs across the organisation to reduce our environmental footprint. Our world-class Environmental Management System is based on ISO 14001 and the highest international standards. We are continually finding new and innovative ways to reduce our energy usage, water usage and waste. |
Renew | |
| | Reuse Kimberly-Clark re-uses its waste, recycling and integrating it back into the production cycle. Less than 5% of our waste goes to landfill. |
| | Reduce Kimberly-Clark Australia has significantly reduced, and continues to reduce, the amount of waste and emissions created by its production processes, including carbon emissions. |
| | Recycle We use recycled fibre for packaging and ensure all our packaging is 100% recyclable. |
| | Rethink Kimberly-Clark is constantly rethinking its environmental policies and practices and developing new innovation to further improve its environmental performance. |
