Hand towels, toilet tissue and soap all offer cost saving opportunities.
What are the use areas for your products within the health care segment?
Public washroom, nurses stations, and patient’s rooms.
What is the primary challenge hospitals face in their public washrooms?
The primary challenges are the prevention of cross-contamination and the presentation of a clean, hygienic image through an adequate supply of towels, tissues, and skincare products using the appropriate dispensers.
How can I improve the sanitation of key areas of my store: deli and food service, meat and poultry, butcher, bakery, produce, checkout?
Be sure that hand washing is easy. A working sink, plenty of paper towels and a steady supply of soap is a must.
My properties are not Class A, why should I choose Kimberly-Clark products?
KCA manufactures a range of products which offer different performance levels for every class of office building. Always consider Kimberly-Clark towels, tissue, soap and dispensing systems.
My contract cleaner handles all of the products we use in the washroom shouldn’t you be talking to them not me?
Your tenants are the true decision makers and Kimberly-Clark’s intent is to satisfy all parties in the purchasing cycle.
Most importantly however, your costs are critical to budget management thus, we want you to understand that all paper products are not the same. So, consider Kimberly-Clark in your future purchase decisions.
Washroom maintenance is a key for keeping my washroom clean, but clogging is always a problem. Does Kimberly-Clark have products that will not get clogged in my toilets and soap systems?
We do have specialized products that can help reduce clogging. Request that a Kimberly-Clark Professional Representative visit with you to discuss these products.
As long as we do not run out, why should I care about towels, tissue and soap?
Three simple reasons:
- Your tenants expect the best quality for the rates they pay.
- You expect the best value for what you pay.
- Our products are designed to help reduce your overall cost.
How can I improve hand washing efforts of my employees?

Washroom
Facial Tissue
Are Kimberly-Clark Professional toilet and facial products the same as the consumer toilet and facial products?
Kimberly-Clark Professional facial tissue is the same as the consumer market, but available in different sheets per pack and carton packaging graphics.
The toilet tissue products vary some, depending on the product and brand.
Do you sell Pocket Pack Facial Tissue?
Yes, Pocket Pack tissue is available to Kimberly-Clark Professional customers.
Does your facial tissue have a run-out notification?
Yes, our KLEENEX® facial tissues have a signal sheet feature that alerts maintenance or housekeeping that the tissue box is nearly empty.
Toilet Tissue
Is the toilet tissue safe for septic tanks and sensitive plumbing?
Yes. All of our products are safe for septic tanks.
What are your high capacity toilet tissue systems?
We have many high capacity systems that will save you maintenance time. Depending on your needs and washroom look, we have:
- Double Dispenser for Soft Interleaved Toilet Tissue (code 4437)
- Single (code 4971) and double (code 4913) Jumbo Roll Toilet Tissue Dispensers.
Do you have any hygienic toilet tissue systems?
Yes, our Soft Interleaved Toilet Tissue System dispenses one sheet at a time, so that you touch only the sheet you use.
Do you have any toilet tissue product that will deter pilferage?
Non-standard product types typically help deter pilferage.
So Soft Interleaved Toilet Tissue and Jumbo Roll Toilet Tissue will help deter pilferage.
Plus, all our toilet tissue dispensers are lockable.
What are the primary concerns of the health care market regarding toilet tissue?
The primary challenge is to prevent cross-contamination between patients sharing a washroom and between patients, visitors, and health care workers.
Single sheet dispensing will help to prevent cross contamination, as only the sheet used is touched.
Towel
What benefits will a healthcare facility gain by implementing a hygienic, Kimberly-Clark disposable towel system?
The primary concerns are cost-in-use, product performance, and hygienic dispensing.
What are the key benefits of the Kimberly-Clark’s Single Sheet Hand Towel dispenser?
When reaching to grab a towel, you do not touch the dispenser, only the towel you are taking.
Skincare
What is the difference between antibacterial and antimicrobial products?
The terms are often used interchangeably to refer to Topical Antimicrobial Products. In general, antimicrobial products have a broader spectrum of kill than antibacterial products.
How often and how should I wash my hands?
The frequency of hand washing depends, of course, on the importance of preventing cross-contamination in your workplace.
In general, settings such as office buildings and factories, at a minimum, one should wash their hands whenever they are soiled, before eating, drinking and after smoking, and always after using the washroom.
In food preparation, environments and health care settings, you should consult with your safety official.
In general, in these environments, you should wash your hands as you would in an office environment in addition to anytime you move between work areas (such as between patients or between raw food and prepared food.)
Again, please consult your local expert as specific requirements vary greatly by application.
A very good tutorial on hand washing is available on the Kimberly-Clark Skin Wellness Institute web site.
Will your product stain my counter?
Kimberly-Clark soaps contain only water soluble dyes that will not permanently stain properly maintained surfaces.
Many countertops, especially natural surfaces, are very porous. If these surfaces are not sealed per the manufacturers instructions, any liquid that contains solids (such as soaps) might soak into the pores and leave the appearance of a stain. This can even happen with clear dye-free soaps.
What trends for products used at home might be changing what guests expect at hotels?
One major change in home product usage is the emergence of liquid body washes.
With a luxurious, pearlized appearance and a subtle fragrance, you may want to consider providing EUROBATH* Body Wash for your guests.
Wipers
General
What is the difference between WYPALL® X Wipers and WYPALL® L Wipers?
WYPALL* L wipers are meant for single-use, where you use the wiper once and throw it away (L= Limited life wipers).
WYPALL* X Wipers, on the other hand, are for repeat use, where you can use the wiper again and again (X = extended use cloths).
Single Use
Will WYPALL* L10 Roll Control reduce usage?
The new WYPALL* L10 Roll Control will reduce usage.
Research commissioned by Kimberly-Clark found that on average the WYPALL* L10 Roll Control wiping system cut wiper consumption by up to 25% thereby potentially reducing costs. We suggest that you trial the product to determine the actual reductions/savings for your business.
Will standard centerfeed wiping systems work in the new WYPALL* L10 Roll Control dispenser?
No, WYPALL* L10 Roll Control was designed as an integrated system requiring both dispenser and rolls. Likewise Roll Control rolls will not work in traditional centre feed wiping dispensers.
Is the WYPALL* L10 Roll Control dispenser lockable?
Yes. The WYPALL* L10 Roll Control dispenser offers the choice of snap lock convenience or key lockable security.
How do I know when I am near the end of the WYPALL* L10 Roll Control Roll?
The WYPALL* L10 Roll Control dispenser has a transparent window on the front of the dispenser allowing you to view your roll use.
The WYPALL* L10 Roll Control Roll sheets do not appear to be dispensing well, they are ripping on dispensing.
Dispensing must be in a downward direction. Check that the sheet is feeding correctly and that it is not clogging by opening the door and restart the feeding through the dispenser if necessary.
Check also that the dispenser is properly mounted at the correct height (1.6m from the ground).
Two sheets of WYPALL* L10 Roll Control Roll Wipers are being dispensed at a time, why is this?
Ensure that each sheet is gripped as low as possible.
Two-sheet dispensing can occur when the offset between sheets is closer than normal. This will correct itself with continued dispensing.
Extended Use
Do WYPALL* X80 or WYPALL* X70 Wipers contain any glue or other adhesive?
No. WYPALL* X Wipers are made with an exclusive technology from Kimberly-Clark called HYDROKNIT* material.
Manufactured using jets of water to bond soft absorbent paper fibres to extra strong polypropylene non-woven fabric, HYDROKNIT* material is our most advanced wiping material. The result of using this technology is faster absorption, tear-resistance, and exceptionally high performance, wipers that are ideal for the toughest tasks.
Furthermore, the absence of glues/adhesives ensures that no traces are left on wiped surfaces and that there are no reactions with chemical wiping solutions.
Is it possible to reuse WYPALL* X wipers?
Yes. WYPALL* X Wipers are strong, absorbent wipers — ideal for repeat wiping.
Are WYPALL* X80 or X70 Wipers heat resistant? If so, what is their melting point?
No. The sheets will become “soft” and “flexible” at approximately 125–130°C.
The polymer (20% of the product) will melt at 160°C. The pulp will start to burn at 300–400°C.
We do not recommend that the cloths are used to handle hot materials as they may not provide sufficient insulation.
What is the flashpoint of the HYDROKNIT* Material used to make WYPALL* X60 (64gsm), X70 (82gsm) & X80 (125gsm) Wipers?
There is no flashpoint (the temperature at which a liquid becomes ignitable) of the HYDROKNIT* Material. This term does not apply to this material. However, the material will burn if a source of flame or ignition (for example a spark) is applied to the material. The exception would be when a flammable substance is absorbed into the wiper. Then it should be assumed that the wiper will take on the flammable characteristics of the chemical applied to it.
Re-Usable
Which Kimberly-Clark Professional wipers can I re-use?
We have 3 wiper ranges that can be re-used.
- EPIC* Wipers are ideal for industrial use.
- KIMTEX* Wipers are designed for the food service and manufacturing industries.
- WORKFORCE* Wipers are a general purpose wiper.
Which wiper is the best one to use for wiping up oil?
EPIC* Wipers are textured for superior absorbency.
Which wiper do I use if I want to introduce a colour coded system for segregating cleaning tasks?
WORKFORCE* Xtra has a complete range of colours for task segregation.

KLEENGUARD* Gloves
Q: What does the Chemical Hazards legislation require and what do the symbols on the European standard EN 374 mean?
A: The legislation relates to protection against Chemicals and Micro-organisms EN374.
Any Company wishing to sell Personal Protective Equipment in any European Community Country is controlled by The Manufacturers Directive 89 / 686 / EEC.
To sell Chemical Resistant Gloves we have had our products independently tested and certificated to ensure they meet strict performance standards. Once this has been achieved they are given the CE mark.

The legislation is in 3 parts:
EN374 – 1 relates to Terminology and Performance Requirements.
EN374 – 2: Is the Resistance to penentration by micro-organisms and is also known as the AQL Pinhole test.
EN374 – 3: Resistance to Chemical hazards (permeation)
Finally, the “open book and information” symbol indicates that more information about the performance of the product is available to the User.
| Resistance to penetration by micro-organisms EN 374 – 2 | ![]() |
| Resistance to permeation by Chemicals EN 374 – 3 | ![]() |
To carry the EN 374 – 3 “Chemical Flask” symbol all manufacturers of Chemical Resistant Gloves must have their products tested against 3 Chemicals from a standard list of 12. Each Chemical is denoted by a letter from A through to L. The list is fixed for everyone. It is important that all 3 Chemicals must have a “hold out” time of at least 30 minutes. When this has been achieved the Chemical Flask symbol can be placed on the glove. We have chosen to have our gloves tested with n – Heptane / 40% Sodium hydroxide solution / and 96% Sulphuric acid concentrate. These are denoted by the letter J K and L which appear under the Chemical Flask symbol. If a product does not meet the strict testing parameters against the list of 12 chemicals but does meet the Pinhole test the product is given the EN 374 – 2 symbol of a Chemical Beaker.

Q: What does flock lined in the G80 gloves mean?
A: Both our KLEENGUARD* G80 Purple Nitrile* and Neoprene/Latex Chemical resistant are flock lined. This means that fine cotton staple fibre is added to the interior of the neoprene/latex or nitrile glove to enhance donning and comfort. Flock lining is desirable because it greatly enhances comfort. Apart from facilitating donning, it helps to absorb perspiration. Flock lined gloves are unsupported gloves, where a staple coating is blown on to the latex/nitrile/neoprene inner lining.
Q: What does “supported glove” mean?
A: The G80 PVC is a supported glove. A supported glove is where the PVC/Latex/nitrile is dipped on a fabric liner. Both the flock lining and fabric liner are often made from cotton. PVC is not as inherently strong as either a nitrile or a neo/latex construction. Therefore, in order to make a glove robust enough for industrial applications, PVC chemical resistant gloves are made in a supported fashion.
Q: Does the mil in thin mil glove stand for micron, and is the thickness of these gloves provided in microns eg G10 Blue Nitrile is 6.7 mil thickness, is this a micron measurement?
A: We need to be careful about terminology here – the ‘mil’ in this context is a US imperial measurement and not related to micron or mm. In imperial measurement ‘mil’ is 0.001 inches (milli inch or thousandth of an inch) The thickness of the G10 blue nitrile gloves is 0.06mm.
Q: How do customers wash G60 Level 5 Cut Resistant gloves? (Also how many times can they be washed?)
A: Washing instructions are included on the technical sheet (attached)
Q: What is the average life for gloves?
A: This really depends on the glove we are discussing. Also, it depends on the application and usage of the glove.
Q: How does a latex reaction occurs?
A: Please refer to the article that explains latex reactions and other allergic reactions to gloves.
Q: There is no bug on the PVC chemical resistant glove. Has this been made using the Reflex Design?
A: No the G80 PVC was developed by KC-Europe. We do not make the Reflex design claims for the G80 PVC glove.
Q: Which gloves can be used for food contact?
A: G10 Blue Nitrile, G10 Grey Nitrile and G60 Level 5 Cut Resistant have been approved for food contact, according to the EU framework directive 89/109/EEC. Also their formulation have been evaluated and the ingredients found to be in compliance with the US Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act as stated in 21 C.F.R. §177.2600 (“Rubber articles intended for repeated use”).
Q: What are the benefits of powder free?
A: Powdered gloves are more likely to cause an allergic reaction to latex proteins because the powder holds the proteins on the surface of the gloves. Powder free gloves have gone through an additional process which washes the gloves to reduce the latex proteins and improves donnability without powder. This additional process adds to the cost of the gloves but provides better protection for workers. Also powder free reduces the likelihood of contamination during the surface preparation process as there are no loose particles that might escape from the glove.
